Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!
Who has 2 thumbs, the best luck ever and won a trip to Outside Lands in San Francisco?! THIS GAL!!!
We had our fair share of ups and downs on our trip but all in all, it was SO MUCH FUN! 3 days is definatly not long enough in San Fran. We'll have to schedule another trip out there soon. There is SO much to do!
When we got there, we discovered that my tickets were actually VIP tickets which gave us access to some private food vendors, a seating area, massages, our own private bathrooms and front section access to the Metallica concert!! Woohoo!
Besides the "hippie festival" we also went to Fisherman's Wharf, ate a Bubba Gump's, walked around the pier, went to the farmers market, China town and Japan town. Did I mention that 3 days is not long enough in San Francisco?? We need to go back!

Smokin' Hot
And Another One...
Welcome to the World, Daxton David! Jenni and Bill welcomed this handsome little fella into the world on June 17th, Father's day! I had never held a 1 hour old baby until then! We were in Logan for father's day and we couldn't go home until that baby made his entrance! Brian pretty much felt like the bomb because he was the only one that got Daxton to be calm and quiet when he was holding him. We love you, baby Dax! And we're so happy for all the King's!Happy Anniversary/Portland
We had been talking about going up to visit the Turner's before we got into a busy summer, so I'm thinking like in a month or so. We got home from work on Wednesday and Brian had been talking to Andrea about coming up, and he says to me "Well, Austin's got a basketball game Saturday morning, so let's try to make it up there in time for that"... uh... what?! I was imagining this trip was going to be a few weeks away. I was wrong. So, we hurried and got the time off of work, and left for Portland Friday night around 9. Brian always laughs at me on road trips because I call myself the navigator. He is in charge of driving. I am in charge of keeping the driver happy. He kept asking "do you have gum? Can you hand me a drink? Are there snacks? What do you want me to do with my trash?" and I was totally prepared for all of it. I was in and out of consciousness the entire 12 hour drive, but I was awake at midnight to yell "Happy anniversary" and give my hubbs a present. We arrived at the Turner's around 6 in the morning and slept on the couch for a few hours, then got up and went to Austin's basketball game. After the game, we went back to the Turner's where Andrea surprised me and the kids with a trip up Mt. Hood for the weekend! The biggest surprise was the amount of snow up there! We borrowed the cabin from a friend of Andrea's who said "I just wish there was snow up there for you guys to play in". Oh don't you worry. Snow there was. In fact, we didn't take the chance driving our little TSX up the mountain side. We piled ourselves and all our crap into the truck and I had to close my eyes during the drive up there. (Perhaps I should tell that whole story, it's a doosie.) Anyways, it was a beautiful cabin and we had SO MUCH FUN! Games, movies, lots of sledding, good eatin'... and we had all sorts of different weather up there. Snow, rain, sun. It was a perfect start to our trip.
We were at dinner one of the nights we were up at the cabin and lil miss Ella bean figured out that if she smiled a big gummy smile, she would get ice cream. It was SO funny! What a ham!
So, funny story. There is a cute young man from our ward who was called to serve in Portland several months ago. Well, right before we left for our trip, Brian get's a picture message from his sister that says "look familiar" and it was the cute missionary from our ward! What are the chances! So Brian told the missionary mom that we would check up on her son while we were there. Brian fed them good that night!
Brian heard about this doughnut shop in downtown Portland called VooDoo donuts that he wanted to try. They had some crazy donuts: The bacon maple bar (which is exactly what it sounds like, a maple bar with bacon on it), the gay bar (a long doughnut with fruit loops on top), the Texas challenge (a giant doughnut the size of 6 regular donuts) and the Memphis mafia (with banana, cinnamon sugar, peanut butter and chocolate chips).
Brian was teasing Andrea for not having a big enough glass for him to drink out of at their house. You see, Brian's sister, Jenni, has these huge steins that the men always drink out of when we're over there and Andrea didn't have anything like that. So during one of our trips to the store, Andrea found this GIGANTIC stein for Brian to keep at their house. It says "I bet you can't" on the front. We couldn't stop laughing!
Everytime we visit Portland, we look for jobs and a house. One of these times we're not going to come back! Thanks for a fun Trip, Turner's!

Aunt and Uncle Again!

Shortly after Brian's brother Blake and his wife Shanshan moved back to China, they announced that they were pregnant! And 9 short months later, baby Cecilia made her grand entrance into this world! Shanshan was actually more than a week over due when CeCe was born. Brian thinks that the extra cooking time is why she has so much hair!
CeCe at 3 weeks

Penni Pooper
Little Penni pooper (who is not so little anymore) has been so fun to have in our house. Yes, she is the naughtiest dog who ever lived, but you can't help but love her. This little lady:
*LOVES to play with Zoey. (And that's an understatement)
*Is having the.hardest.time. grasping this whole "potty training" thing
*Is having the.hardest.time. grasping this whole "potty training" thing
*Likes to sleep on her back
*Will eat anything off the floor
*Likes to cuddle up and sleep under your chin
*Is growing WAY to fast for my liking
*Goes crazy when you blow in her face
Brian has given her the nick name "magic feet" because when she's excited she cannot keep still. It is SO funny. Her 2 little front paws just can't stay on the ground.
On a side note, the dog mom:
*is sick and tired of mud+dogs. I've lost track of how many times I've bathed them
*is sick and tired of cleaning up pee
*can't stay mad at them
*loves watching them snuggle
*has lost track of how many times I've stepped on the little one
The poor doggies don't have names anymore. They are known as the big one and the little one. For the longest time after we got Penni, I couldn't tell if her and Zoey were fighting or playing, but I think they love each other now.

Christmas 2011 = Crazy
Ok, so it wasn't that bad. I just felt like we were constantly on the move. Christmas eve we had dinner at my parents house where there was a lovely dinner, games and the Christmas story read from the bible. We headed home to spend the night in our own bed. Christmas morning we woke up and opened our presents from Santa and each other. Brian gave me a puppy (Penni, not another puppy) and the attachments for my Bosch mixer. I gave Brian some car parts, jeans, and new g's! (He was thrilled, in case you were wondering). We drove back down to my parents house for presents and the phone call to the missionary. My parents have 9 o'clock church, so they got home from Sacrament and were FRANTICALLY opening gifts, because we were to call my brother at 12:30. So we got there and it was pandemonium. I did not like it. It was a race to open presents the fastest. I got to talk to Eric first, but it was only for 10 minutes before we headed to Haber's for Christmas dinner. Dinner was delicious, the company was excellent, but I'd have to say my favorite part was when Lily (my 4 year old niece) announced that her mom was pregnant. Jenni was waiting to tell the family, but her daughter kind of spilled the beans for her. She's due in June, and we are SO excited!
