We Love Andrea

While in Portland, I had Andrea cut me this cute vinyl saying for my huge, blank wall in my kitchen. When Jen and Bill were here to do the pantry, I had them help us hang it. Andrea, I don't know how you do it... hanging that thing was the most stressful thing I've ever done in my life! I was growling at people left and right, swearing under my breath, sweating bullets, and giving people dirty looks. I totally love it, but we won't be doing this again...

Blanket Box

My dad made this blanket box for us for Christmas. I love it! Finally we can keep all our blankets together and out of my hall closet. I'm just now posting about it because it finally made it's way out of our front room (due to construction on the pantry) and into our family room. Yay! Thanks Dad!

Twilight News

Just because the only thing going on right now "Twilight" related is behind the scenes, doesn't mean you're not going to hear about it from me! Just a few small updates, the good, the bad, and the indifferent, I would like to share my opinion on...

The Good:

They are keeping Taylor Lautner for the role of Jacob Black! YAY! I love this kid, he's so adorable. FYI if you didn't know, after "Twilight" was filmed, there was talk about weather or not Summit was going to keep Taylor Lautner for the role of Jacob Black in "New Moon" because Jacob grows quite a bit in "New Moon" and they were worried that Taylor wouldn't fit the build of the "bigger" Jacob. But we can all breath easy now, Taylor is in for the long hall.

The Bad:

Ok, so this isn't really bad, I just have my own thoughts about this. But it has been rumored that Dakota Fanning is going to be Jane in "New Moon". I think she would make a GREAT Jane... for this movie. But what about the following movies? Vampires don't age, and I'm pretty sure that this 14 year old's body is going to do some obvious changing over the next several years if you know what I mean.

The indifferent:

Catherine Hardwicke will not be continuing to direct this project. I'm interested to see how the new director, Chris Weitz will handle such a big responsibility.

Supposed To Be There All Along

Would you take a look at this thing of beauty?! Two weeks ago, we had wasted space in our kitchen. Tonight, we have a pantry! Brian and Bill built this bad boy in just 2 days! I LOVE it! I keep telling Brian, "it looks like it was supposed to be there all along". Now we can get started on our food storage! Woo hoo!
Bill, are you showing us your muscles?

The fort of awesome-nessHi, my name is Mallory and I have OCD and I like to paint things that no one will ever see

The finished product!

See? Supossed to be there all along, right? Thank you SO MUCH Bill and Brian for all your hard work. All I have to say is MEN ARE AMAZING!

Meet Buster

This is Buster.... Brian's mullet. That's right, I said mullet. Apparently we are stuck in the 80's. When Brian was called to be in the young men's a couple of months ago, he was disappointed that he had to shave off his humongous beard and mustache (see our blog picture for clarification). So he decided that since he couldn't have hair on his face, he needed some growing down the back of his neck.

Finally!

YES! We are alive! We were in Oregon for 2 1/2 weeks, and then I was sick with bronchitis for a week after that... and still trying to recover. Oh don't worry, the doctor said a bronchitis cough could last up to six weeks... can't wait! 2 weeks down, 4 to go! Anywho, we are back and I am ready to blog!

First of all, our trip to Oregon was so much fun AND such an adventure. We went up for Redden's baptism/Jessi's baby blessing/Christmas/New Years and ended up with more than we bargained for. I'll try to make this short and sweet. Basically, Portland saw weather like they haven't seen since the late 1800's (everything from NONSTOP snow, freezing rain, pouring rain and thanks to all that moisture... flooding) and 19 members of my husbands family were literally trapped inside his sister's house for 3 days while the freeway was closed. Yes, I said trapped. Andrea made it work though! She is so amazing. She fed us ALL for 3 days without going to the store thanks to her food storage! Shout out to Andrea! Woot woot!

This is what we drove through to get there

Zoey got us safely to the Turner's house

Aw, what a good uncle...
Maybe not!
Downtown Portland
The USS something-or-other at OMSI. Brian was REALLY sad that the submarine tours were sold out the day we were there.
Brian in the Earthquake house. He was really scared. I think Rich is trying to comfort him?
I told Brian to get in this thing and take a picture with me. He was afraid that once he got in, he would get stuck and not be able to get back out. So this is his "scared" face.
Brushing up on his prenatal development knowledge. I think it frightened him.
Love this girl!
We are BFF's

Christmas was also spent at the Turner's. It was so much fun. I haven't spent Christmas with little kids for a long time, so it was fun to see how excited Redden and Austin were. Brian and I got Rock Band from Santa, so we got to play that for a good part of our trip.

Our New Years was very laid back. We stayed up and played games and ate lots of treats. Then around 2 am when the power went out, we decided that was a sign that it was time to go to bed. I tell you, some crazy stuff happened while we were in Portland!

Well it was a successful trip! Thanks Turner's for letting us live in your trailer for so long! We had a blast! Miss you already!
