The Dierks Bentley Experience

Dierks was AWESOME! What more can I say? And once again, guess who didn't take any pictures? That's right. I brought the camera but left it in the car because I didn't think you could take pictures at an event like that. I am very angry with myself. None the less, the concert was awesome. Lee Brice opened the show. The only song of his I recognized was "More than a memory" which is actually sung by Garth Brooks. I don't think Lee Brice sings much, I think he just writes. Anyway, he was pretty good, but the microphone was up really loud and you couldn't understand what he was saying. Next up was Bucky Covington. He was one of the finalists on American Idol a couple of years ago. And the only song of his I recognized was "It's good to be us". Bucky was kind of a weirdo. And again, the mic was too loud and you couldn't understand the words to his songs. He was also trying to "dance" along to his own singing. The only way I can think to explain his "moves" is he looked like a mix between Kermit the Frog and the 6 million dollar man. But then finally after 2 hours of Lee and Bucky... it was time. Dierks opened the show by singing "lot of leavin left to do". Did I mention that he was awesome?! That man is an entertainer! He ran all over the stage while playing his guitar and singing. He had the audience sing along and pulled a girl up on the stage. He had a bra thrown at him and I screamed when he held it up. Hey, that Dierks is one handsome fellow. At the end, after he sang his 'last' song, Brian was sad because he didn't sing "What was I thinking" which is Brian's favorite. But then Dierks said he would sing one more, and that was it. It was totally awesome and so so much fun. I would have definatly paid to see that concert, even if I didn't win tickets on the radio! Did I already say how awesome it was?

All Dierks, all the time

I have had several people ask who Dierks Bentley is when I tell them I've won tickets to his concert. So for the time being, I have changed our music on our blog from an arrangment of my favorite songs to all Dierks Bentley songs. Enjoy!

Dierks Bentley, here we come!

It started off a regular old Wednesday. Brian and I were driving to work, listening to 101.5 the Eagle, just like we do every morning. And when they announced that it was the time to call to win Dierks Bentley concert tickets, I grabbed my phone and dialed away, just like I do every morning when they announce that it's time to call to win. But something was different today. It starting ringing, on my first phone call. I waited. It rang for a minute. Then a voice came on the line. "Hello?" I said. And the next thing I knew, I had won concert tickets to Dierks Bentley! AND I am entered in a drawing to meet Dierks before the concert! I was shouting at the poor gentleman on the other end of the phone, Keith Stubbs, my new BFF. You need to understand that I call this radio station EVERY MORNING trying to win whatever it is they are giving away. Concert tickets, lagoon passes, dinner, t-shirts. And today, my diligence finally paid off. So don't ask us to hang out on April 26th, we'll be at Dierks!

Brian Andreasen: Master Tech

As of February 23, 2008, Brian is a master tech. What is a master tech you ask? Well, Brian has achieved the hightest level of professional training in the automotive industry! He is "one of the best trained service people in the industry." He has a plaque with his photo and accomplishments displayed proudly at Jody Wilkinson Acura.

I might also add that Brian is 1 of 2 master techs in Utah, and 1 of 90 in the nation! His work had a big hoop-la and ordered a great big lunch from Famous Daves and some of the big wigs came in from out of town to meet and greet him. I'm so proud of you, Bri! Love you!

This pretty much sums up how my Thursday went today...

A lady joins a man on an elevator at the end of the work day. She says to him "T.G.I.F." The man looks at her, shakes his head and says "$.h.i.t.". Confused, the lady says it to him again, thinking he's mis heard her "T.G.I.F." Again, the man shakes his head and says "$.h.i.t." at this point, the lady is convinced that the man doesn't know what T.G.I.F. stands for, so she says "thank goodness it's Friday". And one last time, the man shakes his head and says "sorry honey, it's Thursday."

You could be famous!

Ok, so not really famous, but you could have your picture on the cover of a Beneficial Financial Group brochure! My work is going to start using photo's of it's employee's and their family's on the cover instead of random trees (lame). So, here's what you do. If you want you, your kids, your pets, parents on the cover of a life insurance brochure, just email them to me and I will submit them. It's as easy as that! A few things to keep in mind: 1. I will have to sign a usage waiver on your behalf giving Beneficial permission to use your photo. 2. You will NOT be receiving any type of payment for submitting your photo. And finally, Beneficial is looking for candid photos rather than formal or studio photos. Let me know if you're interested!!
